The Medical Staff

Dr Simon J Acey M.B B Ch DRCOG MRCGP Dip Clin Ed – was born in Seaford on the south coast. He qualified from Manchester University in 1988. He trained in Burnley, Blackburn and Pontefract before moving to the North East in 1993. He is a GP Trainer and GP Tutor for Hartlepool. He is interested in medical education, child health and mental health problems. He has four children, is a keen supporter of Manchester United, enjoys reading and listening to a variety of music.

Dr Iyad Al-Mashharawi MBBS MRCGP - is originally from Palestine, trained in India and UK.  Soon after graduating from India Iyad has worked in the UK since 1999 and has worked in James Cook University Hospital, Friarage Hospital and Blackpool Victoria Hospital. Since completing his GP Training in August 2005 at Northwest Deanery Iyad worked as a salaried GP for 2 years which includes a year with Dr’s Eaton, Mc Gowan & Roberts were he then joined as a partner September in 2007. His medical interests include Respiratory Diseases and Skin Diseases. Iyad is married and has two children.  He enjoys the outdoors and cycling.

Dr Alison Eaton MB ChB FRCGP - was born in Edinburgh and graduated from Aberdeen in 1985. She moved to the North East in 1986 and trained as a GP in Cleveland. She worked in Stockton and Middlesbrough before joining this Practice in 1990. Alison has also become a Fellow by Assessment of the Royal College of General Practitioners and obtained the Diploma in Diabetes Care in 2004. She is the lead GP for medical student teaching within the Practice. She likes reading, dancing, swimming and has 2 children.

Dr Patrick Mc Gowan MB BCH MRCGP Dip AGP - is Irish-American and graduated from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland in 1985. While training to become a GP, he worked in Teesside, Manchester, Lancashire, South Wales and Australia. He joined the Practice in 1991. He has been a GP Trainer in the Practice since August 2001 and has interests in minor surgery, child health and computers. He gained the Diploma in Advanced General Practice at Newcastle University in 1998. Patrick is a keen hill walker, swimmer, part time student with the Open University and enjoys a good book.

Dr Richard G Moody MB ChB DA - was born in Hartlepool and went to school in Redcar. He qualified from Dundee University in 1977 and initially worked as an anaesthetist in hospital. He joined the Havelock Practice as a General Practitioner when it moved into the Victoria Road Centre in 1985. His medical interests include minor surgery and his outside interests include competitive scrabble, golf and hill walking. He is married with 3 children and his wife also works in the practice.

Dr Rachel Roberts - joined the Practice in August 1999, having trained in our Practice on the Cleveland Vocational Training Scheme. She passed her MRCGP with a merit grade, was awarded the Ruth Dunlop award for GP Trainee of the year on the Cleveland GP Training Scheme and obtained the RCGP Certificate in Drug Addiction Treatment in 2002. She works three quarter time and has one son (at the moment!), Nicholas who keeps her home life full and active!

Dr Boleslaw M Posmyk MB ChB

Practice Nurses – of which there are four
Our nurses are highly qualified and experienced members of our team who hold their own clinics and are trained to give independent advice on a wide variety of health problems as well as carrying out vaccination, dressings, removing sutures and ear syringing

Health Care Assistants – of which there are three
Our Health Care Assistants are trained phlebotomists who help with clinical procedures. These duties include phlebotomy, bp etc. This role will develop in the future.
